Anyway, I called the maker of the CSST and there fittings are standard pipe threads so all I need is a pipe thread to flare adapter on the tank end and a flexible gas range connection kit on the Range end. I expected common sense simple answers like I usually get from here but somewhere it turned into rocket science and lectures on training and permits.

Yes I plan on hooking a dual output regulator to the tanks I plan on using two with a switchable regulator. My tanks will be outside on my porch where my grill is. I will look at my range specs to make sure the regulator is properly sized I believe they are adjustable. I will bond the CSST. Does all this sound right? I'm in the process of ridding myself of the local propane company as we speak. What I will add to the suggestions so far is to make sure that you purchase a good 2 stage regulator, not one of those pot metal chinese ones that will fail and they all do eventually. I bought a compact 2 stg regulator made by Rego USA and is what the propane companies use on home installs.

There are also distance requirements from ignition sources, windows, AC compressors and crawl space openings so you might want to check with the local propane company to know those. BTW if you aren't rich, like me, and don't want to spend the ridiculous cost of the 1 pound tanks, you can refill them easily. Amazon has the adapters to do so for around bucks I recommend the all brass fitting as opposed to the one with the plastic collar. That way you only have to buy the "disposable" tanks once. It's cold outside and inside.
With below zero Fahrenheit temps, I was super happy to get this for my garage heater. Now, I can use my 20lb tank with my heater buddy, instead of having to buy a large quantity of 1lb tanks. The hose, hose ends and materials all seem to be high quality and the overall hose is put together very well. It's performs exactly as it should. It's doing its job right now, as a matter of fact! Very handy for attaching a 20lb propane bottle to a device designed for a 1 lb bottle.
Beware it does not have a regulator. If you don't know what that is or why you might need one, this is not the product for you. Good quality product with heavy brass fittings and a solid knurled knob to attach to your propane tank. After 3 months the line would leak at the connection to the tank. If I hold it straight it is okay but if I try to bend it I can hear and smell a leak. The threads are on tight and this wasn't a problem when I first received it. Don't have a 20lb propane tank so I can't verify it works until I hook up my daughter's tank.

One person found this helpful. Hose fitting separated and emptied entire 20 lb bottle of propane. Thank goodness it was on the deck and not stored in the garage. This defect could have been catastrophic. Do not leave connected when not using. The female end threading on outside - connects to the 1 lb hose wouldn't seat properly and screw in.

It was the right part, and same brand as my portable stove. Had mine for about 3 months when I heard a hissing sound coming from the large connector. I shut the tank off to inspect where the leak was coming from and then the hose blew off the connector. I put on a radiator hose clamp and now its working, but I think this company should be aware of this..
