Think about these things - A 17 year old can drive, a 14 year old cannot - A 17 year old is almost in college, a 14 year old is barely in high school - In a year a 17 year old can legally smoke and go clubbing, a 14 year old cannot - A 17 year old will be an ADULT in a year, a 14 year old will not. Yes, I see no reason not to treat him like any other boy who would date my daughter. There is only three years difference. He is still in school as well or at least school age By the time he is out of highschool she will be 16 and that is age of consent.
Since acceptable that if one person is older, if by the time the older one is done highschool the younger one is of age of consent then there is no real issue with the age difference. When I was seventeen, I was dating a fourteen year-old girl for a while; and it was perfectly innocent and nice and all, and her parents approved.
