I was a freshman, he was a senior. I saw nothing wrong with it. It was a 2 year and a few months difference. It fell apart within a few months after my parents found out. I started dating my online friend, who was also When I was 15 and a half, I started dating the person I'm currently dating, he just turned 18 that May again, 2 year and a half difference.. He was a virgin, I was too.

Eventually, My mom found out and flipped her shit. Threatened to call the cops and shit. We still see each other in secret , but we don't Yeah. We just care about each other and if I have to wait 2 years til I'm Whole point is that, I see nothing wrong with a senior dating a freshman. Depends on the relationship and who the people are, in my opinion. Yeah exactly, I feel like relationships like that are kind of a good learning experience for both parties. I feel like high school is just some time for people to figure out what they like or don't like, or what's gonna work and what's not gonna work.

I'm in a situation nearly identical. Apparently they've already shared nudes and shit, but since neither I nor my other friends have seen "evidence", we can't do anything. Because of the way our director decided to do Marching Band, we had the 8th graders with the rest of the high school, and there is an 8th Grader dating a senior who I frequently see and hear about fucking when we're not busy.

Personally I only date up in age though. That is definitely as weird as it sounds. I'm pretty sure that's worse than a freshman with a senior. Plus compared to juniors 8th graders still look prepubescent. And the maturity gap there is huge. If you started the relationship in 8th grade it's not as weird but still kinda creepy that you wanted some 6th graders. If they started the relationship in 8th grade wouldn't the younger people be in 3rd grade? That is just fucked up.

Same thing really, but blah. I think the two maturity levels would be way different. For my friend though, the guy she dated was pretty mature I guess. Personaly I am not sure But if you two like eachother, go ahead It really isnt a big deal once you two are both older Posted August 28, I don't really see any real problems with it.

Posted August 28, edited. I don't think they'res inherently wrong with it, but you will have different maturity levels. Girls do mature faster than boys supposedly.

And actually, a lot of people I know of who dated when they were a couple years apart in high school worked out. One in three adolescents in the United States is a victim of physical, sexual, emotional, or verbal abuse from a dating partner. As a freshmen, you are more vulnerable to be on the receiving end of relationship abuse as seniors tend to be older, bigger, and may see themselves as having power over you. If you feel unsafe or think you may be in an abusive or unhealthy relationship, seek help from a trusted family member or other adult.

Find out if your crush is available. You want to start by finding out basic information, such as whether they are already in a relationship or not. To find out this information, ask around but try to be discreet about it and only ask friends you know you can trust.

After all, if you are in the older end of your grade and your crush is young for their grade, there might not even be much of an age gap between you two. For example, ask around to see if they are involved in any sports, clubs, or extracurricular activities. Just be sure to do it if you are also actively interested in the activity--never do something just for the sake of being around your crush. After all, the best way to get to know a person is simply by talking to them.

Since there are very few private places in school, you may always feel like you have an audience watching you when you approach your crush.

You can either decide to just ignore the onlookers or approach your crush in a more relaxed setting, such as at the beginning or end of the lunch period or between classes. Be relaxed and direct in introducing yourself. Avoid blushing, giggling, or otherwise showing signs of nervousness as that can just make both you and your crush feel awkward.

Just take a sincere interest in getting to know them as a person and pick up on nonverbal cues. After all, the goal is to get to know your crush and if you interrogate them too much, you may end up driving them away! You want your crush to like you for you, not the person you're pretending to be. Be confident and laidback. Perhaps the biggest difference between being a senior and a freshman is that everything in the school is new for freshmen. After a few years, most students develop more confidence and ease and this comes naturally with age.

However, if you want to attract a senior, you will have to project that same sort of laidback confidence.
