Contains 2 pass thru plugs External transducer-mounting system for sit-on-top fishing kayaks. The structure detail is very good. I have only used it in water from 2 or 3 feet down to the low 20's range so I can't give a full review yet but I am happy with it so far. Keep in mind that the shallower the water is, the less likely you are to actually locate fish due to the small amount of water the transducer is actually covering. That doesn't mean the fish are not there. Item just as described. Display looks good, though not nearly as good as the simulation makes it look.
Started having trouble with it soon after installation. Depth indication would go to. Re-setting the depth range from auto to a manual depth would sometimes help. Couldn't predict when it would go bad. Lowrance sent me a replacement display unit, for a 20 dollar fee, same problem. They said it is probably the transducer, and they would send me one. It did not arrive so I called again and now they say they won't have any until at least May this on April 8th.
It is too late to return the whole thing so It looks like I am out of luck. Don't buy, The DSI is nothing special and I suspect the reason they are out of transducers is because they have had to replace a lot of them. Nice product, easy installation. Installation generally only requires a 2-wire hookup and appropriate 3amp fuse should be installed on the positive red lead of the 12V DC system. A few words on DSI: Because of the higher frequency, you eliminate the arches shadows created when the sound bounces off the target fish creating a shadow ie.
It must be installed so that it receives a clean, smooth flow of water. This is no fault of the unit or its capabilities.
