7 Things You Should Know About Dating In America
You don't need to wear high-heeled boots or anything. I wear nice clothes to look good and feel good because this works for me. I wear these clothes because I like to feel feminine and be feminine. I wear these clothes because this is how I was raised. This is definitely one of the biggest ironies I'll never understand about being in America. I don't get why some girls start dressing down and stop maintaining themselves after they're in a relationship. I don't get why getting married by 25 is a big deal. I don't understand why wearing flip flops is okay unless you're off to the beach.
I don't get why wearing sweats is okay. I don't get girls who think they look "pretty" when they're half-naked, drunk and going off to a club. I don't get why girls who don't put in effort into their appearance on my campus accuse me of "looking good for men" even though that's not an end goal. A lot of American men are about as masculine as the women are feminine. That's why it's important to stick to your own values and improve yourself because in some places the selection is small. Yeah, I've noticed that the guys on my campus are too feminine which is why I'm attracted to more of the ROTC guys or guys at the local military schools.

Pretty definitely is not sexy. I think American girls my age know how to be sexy but not know how to be pretty, if that makes sense. I wouldn't bother until after they are out, most are literally sat down at some point and told give up on any relationships while serving. I was dating one for a while but when I realized he was leaving for training, I had to end it because it seemed pointless to pursue something short term.
In basic training they have a day were they sit down all the new recruits and pretty much tell them, your relationship is over now, she probably will cheat they have seen it all before and avoid any women for a while as the ones going for you now are trying to lock you down for the future.
I had no idea. It's definitely tough dating a military guy especially with the distance. I don't think I could do it and the idea of an LDR doesn't jive well with me. It makes a weird a mount of sense, at the end of the day it will be the military helping the young, trained to kill dude deal with any trauma and will also be the one footing the bill to any gold diggers that pull it off. They explicitly tell any guys that are in ltr's pr engaged that she will most likely cheat and to break it off now, too many cases of guys coming home to cheating gf whose now preggo but he's stuck paying and thus the military is because he was overseas when the baby was born and didn't challenge the paternity.
That's why I ended up things with him because there was no point in keeping it going if I knew we weren't going to see each other. It's like if you didn't see a future and you know you can't commit, suck it up and just stay single. Those men are lucky. They are getting the cold hard truth dished out to them, something most men don't get. We weren't getting that kind of briefing in the military 13 years ago I was extremely blue pilled in the military, and most of the guys in the military were very blue pill as well.
I know what you mean. When we go out all i see is either good body girls in leggings and a boring tank or grossly over weight women in a sausage casing dress with six inch stilettos looking like caterpillars with their back Boobs because they're trying to squeeze out every bit of cleavage.
I went on dates with guys that were such total push overs and scared of interacting that it bothered me too much to be around them but yet from a different perspective they would be considered masculine.
My boyfriend's energy is so completely different compared to other guys and balances me so much that i think when you find a guy to date you'll know instantly too. Yeah, I dated this guy who was slightly older. Had his life all together and attractive but he was too much of a pushover. He was too apologetic, said sorry too often for things not worth being apologetic over. I felt like this dynamic wouldn't work just because I kinda wanted to be the submissive one and I wanted him to take the lead.
Where do you get your outfit inspiration from? These guys probably got too influenced by tv and low self esteem that they think they're just an accessory in a relationship while the woman runs the show. A lot of things. My mom always dressed me in knee-length dresses that were pretty. I really like the 50s. I love skirts and dresses. I wear maxi dresses too. I like lace a lot and things that show off my figure without being tight. Haha yeah like if I feel lazy I still manage to wear "nice" clothes lol. Maxi skirts are nice. Oh shit yes to the first bit there. On my campus, a lot of the men are feminine or sort of I'm gradually concluding that this just is not the place I want to date in, I prefer Texas, Colorado, Tennessee, or the Carolinas.
University life in Florida isn't so good. There are rednecks here, but hardly any country or traditional men So most of the time I do just wear the sweat pants or athletic wear I'm developing a sense of fashion for feminine things, and finding I can look good in sportswear. It's not a big step, but an improvement from loose T-shirts and jeans. Having been to Florida I can confirm, lots of Rednecks are there, but most of the traditional ones live up north near Alabama. The universities in FL are pretty big on partying, but I find many people blend into the classroom and simply commute. I lived in DC for a while, I shrivel up in city settings!

I need some fields! When I went to college, one of the great surprises for me was just how feminine a majority of the guys were. In high school there was a mix of both masculine and feminine guys. But I think all the masculine guys either joined the military or got blue collar jobs after high school, leaving all the feminine guys to go to college.
At first I thought a lot of these guys were gay, but then I just realized they were really feminine straight men. The way they walked, they way they talked - it was all very girly. They were also very submissive, in that they apologized for everything and did pretty much everything a woman told them to do because not doing so makes you some kind of sexist according to the super feminist culture on the average college campus.
I think guys need to be around lots of other guys to be masculine, and the problem is that college is just a predominately female institution. I don't think it's bad when a guy says sorry for doing something seriously wrong. Like, he broke your laptop, that seriously deserves a "sorry. What irks me is the guys who compulsively say it at the drop of a hat for silly things. There are guys who say it all the time, like 10 times a day.
It makes them look submissive and weak. LOL, I was volunteering last night in a program at my college where we drive drunk people home so they don't drive drunk, and it was mostly dudes in the room we were chillin in taking calls. Was hard to believe this many of that type existed IRL, but my point is everyone except me and another dude from my club who is in insane shape and ROTC were fucking dogshit romantic options, lol.
The few girls that were there were dressed much more reasonably. Someone seriously needs to have an intervention for these guys. I know, I wanted to ask them if they were aware they were the walking embodiment of the internets most hated stereotype. Even the non fedorians were still gross, poorly dressed and smelly.

Even when I'm loungin at home I like to look better than that, in my nice comfy adidas track suit not some ratty hole filled sweatpants or whatever. Like many things with style, then tend to look best on black dudes and douchy on everyone else, but at least I have the self awareness to wear track suits semi ironically. My grandfather died and we were taking all his clothes to goodwill so I just said "fuck it" and took the track suits home instead.
I'm sure you look good!

Most American men will just say that sort of stuff because they think it's what you want to hear. Yeah, I'm definitely not turned on by it. It's kinda awful actually. I'm going to continue to embrace my femininity and if that's not what guys on my campus want, oh well. I can not tell from dating experience but I was in the Dominican Republic in February and there were a lot of Americans as well my boyfriend and me are German. We both pay much attention to our nutrition and fitness and what we observed was frightening.
There were about 20 couples of our age in the hotel and of those, 15 were either overweight or obese. The rest was either normal or chubby; nobody was fit, no visible abs or quads. But what was even more embarassing was their attitude. I watched 2 of the overweight people at the buffet, screaming at the chef to put more cheese on their omelette one time. The swim-up bar was crowded because fat people don't occupy one seat but two. They screamed at each other all the time and the guys had to pick up items their girlfriends dropped to the ground I watched this 3 times: Girl lets something drop on the floor, she doesn't even say anything, just looks at her boyfriend and he gets it up without saying a word, lol.
The women seemed very masculine, many had short hair with turquoise dyeing is this a thing? Insecurity was painted on their foreheads. I don't know, our hotel was no party location or cheap and maybe we only experienced the worst of US people which biased our perception but that was what we experienced. Older American couples seemed to be slimmer and nicer to each other though.
As for the masculine women, that definitely is a thing if you look out for it.
